2 BROKE GIRLS follows two young women waitressing at a local, greasy diner. The two twenty-somethings strike up an unlikely friendship. Max, Kat Dennings, hails from a poor working-class family while Caroline, Beth Behrs, was born rich but is now poor due to her father getting caught in a Ponzi scheme. Caroline soon discovers Max’s ability to bake delicious cupcakes and sees a lucrative future for them if only they had the cash to start a cupcake shop. With many attempts to get the business started, from Martha Stewart to the Food Network, the ladies have exhausted many efforts. We last left the girls attempting to make ends meet with Caroline taking a temp job and getting fired. It seemed there was no hope but somehow these two always find ways to make it work!

After a summer hiatus, Max and Caroline are back in action for Season 3. When a young male diner asks if there is anything new at the diner, Max quickly tells him what he missed over the summer. Max proceeds to rattle off a series of pop culture anecdotes, name checking Chris Brown, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and Oprah Winfrey before turning political.

The ladies open a pop-up cupcake window in the back of Han’s diner. After a famous rock star dies in front of their business, the cupcake window becomes an overnight success as his fans come to pay tribute. Han, jealous of the girls’ success and mad at himself for renting the window to them without rent, attempts to steal the publicity.  Elsewhere in the diner, love blossoms, even for the jaded Max, who falls for a cute, broke guy who is not quite what he seems to be.
