DJ Josh LeCash is at the center of the eye-catching and fresh new music doc, Rebel Rebel Rebel

Born into the pulsing nightlife of Miami, Florida, DJ Josh LeCash has found fame in a very unorthodox way, but one that is perfectly characteristic of the times; starting out as a party kid with certain connections, he for a time was dubbed a ‘dime-a-dozen’ DJ, but not for long.

His outspoken persona and strong reputation (not to mention his Adam Lambert look) eventually launched him into the public spotlight, and he now spins at exclusive parties and events all over the country, for the likes of Lindsay Lohan (who is, arguably, a connoisseur of young DJs).

With the flash success of new documentary Rebel Rebel Rebel (which enjoyed heaps of attention and word-of-mouth at SlamDance), LeCash has fallen into the limelight in another impromptu way—Rebel co-director, Kyle Schneider, “just stuck around for about two months, because I guess he thought I was that interesting,” says LeCash, as he shuttled between New York and Los Angeles for his DJ gigs (for Katy Perry, Adam Levine and many more).

The result, a raw and unapologetic look at what some consider to be “Hollywood’s most played-out profession,” is at once fleeting and bold, tempting the viewer at every turn. LeCash actually had nothing to do with the documentary’s production, other than live out his life in front of Schneider’s Canon 5 camera. And evidently, that was more than enough.

In terms of his success, LeCash remains surprised by all the attention, and the fact that he now has “friends everywhere.” Hopefully he’ll hold on to this feeling during the wave of success that is surely coming his way!
