Young Entertainment Mag: What is Acapop! KIDS?

Camryn Quinlan: Acapop! KIDS is a group of kids who harmonize and make their own music just with their voices. It’s called acapella.

YEM: How did you get involved in Acapop! KIDS?

Camryn: My mom saw an online audition so I thought it would be fun to try it.

YEM: Have you gotten to meet Pentatonix, what is their involvement?

Camryn: I have met Scott Hoying a couple of times. Scott is one of the  creators/producers. I did see Pentatonix in concert at MSG in NYC. They were incredible.

YEM: What has been your favorite thing about Acapop! KIDS so far?

Camryn: My favorite thing has been meeting all of the cast members and making the videos. It’s really fun to be on set.

YEM: What has been your favorite song to cover?

Camryn: My favorite song was “Breathin” by Ariana Grande. I am such a huge fan of hers.

YEM: You also have your own sound, what genre would you put yourself in?

Camryn: I consider my sound to be Soul/Pop, so I would say Pop or R&B.

YEM: Who are some of your influencers?

Camryn: I love Ariana Grande, Tyler the Creator, Khalid, Alicia Keys and Bruno Mars.

YEM: How have you been keeping your craft alive during this time?

Camryn: I have been writing a lot, taking a lot of music lessons on Facetime, and recording music for Acapop! KIDS.

YEM: Your song Better Days is to bring awareness to Teen Suicide, can you talk a little about why that’s important to you?

Camryn: It is important to me because I think that mental illness should be normalized and not something we should be afraid to talk about. A lot of people suffer with a mental illness and we should bring awareness to this matter because it is very serious.

YEM: What’s your new song, Ain’t No Second Chance, about?

Camryn: My new song is about relationships and friendships that don’t work out and how to just except that not everyone who comes into your life is meant to stay.

YEM: What would you like to happen to your career going forward?

Camryn: I hope to release either an album or EP soon!
