Jessica Koosed Etting and Alyssa Embree Schwartz will be taking over YEM’s twitter account today! The two of them will be answering all sorts of questions and also talking about their book. Jessica and Alyssa are the authors of the YA novel, Fade Into the Bright. It is so exciting to be able to learn more about the book and how it was made and to be able learn more about Jessica and Alyssa as well.
The fabulous writing duo met on the first day of college when they were freshman at the University of Southern California, and have been writing together ever since. Jessica is originally from Los Angeles, and Alyssa is from Virginia Beach. The two went on to writing television and film together for many years. They eventually made the transition into writing YA books. Jessica and Alyssa have written The Georgetown Academy Series which debuted at #1 on the teen fiction Hot Release list on Amazon, and was named the top summer read by E! News, The Lost Causes back in 2017, and most recently, Fade Into the Bright which was released back in April of this year.
Fade Into the Bright is a contemporary YA romance as well as a coming of age novel about Huntington’s Disease. The novel is about an 18 year old girl named who finds out that she is positive for the disease. From there she makes decisions for her life that make for a very interesting story. The book also explores many things including romance, family, and health all in one. The book is able to shine a light on a very misunderstood disease. Jessica and Alyssa hope to raise awareness about Huntinton’s Disease through this book.
