Young Entertainment Mag: So, what made you want to step into acting?
Alessio Scalzotto: I’ve just always wanted to be on the big screen. When I moved here from Italy I came out to California and met a few casting agents and visited the set of Jessie and met the cast and after that I knew I wanted to get into acting.
YEM: Tell us a little bit about your character in Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting.
Alessio: Victor is a high school student who is stuck in the middle between two rivals who both like him. He is a typical teenager.
YEM: This is your second monster movie. What do you like about the genre?
Alessio: I like the fictional aspect of the genre. It’s also cool see how the movie actually comes out with all the CGI in the end because it’s always so much better than I am imaging it.
YEM: Have you read any of the books that Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting is based on?
Alessio: No, I’m waiting for the movie to come out!
YEM: You’ve worked with a couple ensemble casts. What’s it like to work onset everyday with the same group of people?
Alessio: It’s fun because you create friendships that can last forever. When the movie has a cast your age its even better because it starts to not even feel like work.
YEM: What kind of acting projects would you like to work on in the future?
Alessio: I would love to do a drama.
YEM: You create music in your free time. How would you describe your sound?
Alessio: I wouldn’t be able to put a description to it because I like to vary the sounds. I am working on an EP and I have music out on Soundcloud and Apple Music. You can find me under Zotto.
YEM: Finally, what do you like about creating music? Would you like to continue pursuing it?
Alessio: I lose sense of time when I’m working on music. Also I like how I can express myself. I will absolutely continue pursuing music.
