The episode starts with the theft of a skeleton key at a company called the Kord Corporation. Quentin shows up to try to bust the criminals but they get away. When the robbers get back to their boss, he kills one of them for not following orders. Meanwhile Oliver is planning a coming-back-from-the-dead party for Sara but she is apprehensive about Laurel’s reaction. Flashback to Oliver, Sara and Slade trying to get off the island. They find a helicopter that has gone down. The pilot is on the verge of death but tells Sara to look after his young daughter. After he dies they get hold of his parachute which might help them onto a ship. At the party, Sin has a surprising reaction to Sara when she sees her … it’s almost like she knows her already? Meanwhile Laurel is sulking at home with a large glass of red wine and Oliver is annoyed at Moira for showing up at the party, seemingly having forgotten that he’s throwing it at her house. Teenagers. Oh wait, never mind. Quentin gets a call about a homicide in the glades and leaves, with Oliver and Sara following him. Quentin shows them the weapon, and tells them it’s linked to the theft of the skeleton key – a high tech gadget designed to be able to break into any bank vault. Somebody very tech savvy is planning something big. Quentin goes to tell Laurel that he and Dinah are potentially getting back together, and they want to have a family dinner – including Sara. Laurel agrees.
The mastermind is using the key to break into a bank. Felicity tracks his signal but he has created a diversion by hacking into the city transit system and setting two buses on a course for one another. Arrow and Sara split up, with Arrow managing to narrowly avert the bus collision. Sara has less luck catching the crims, but she does manage to get a blood sample from a dagger she throws at the guy in charge. Back at the lab, they analyze the blood sample and find that it belongs to one William Tockman, a former employee of Kord. He has a terminal illness and is planning all the bank heists to provide for his family when he’s gone. Sara and Arrow pay his lair a visit but it’s a trap. He has broken into Arrow’s computer network and somehow he makes all the computers go kapoot. Tockman is going to be looking for another score as he didn’t get away with the cash the last time so Oliver decides to bate him by placing some cash of his own in a bank vault. Oliver and Sara go off to the family dinner together, whilst Diggle reassures Felicity, who’s been feeling a little left out amongst all these hard bodies lately, that she shouldn’t be jealous of Sara. During the family dinner, Quentin raises the subject of Dinah coming back to Starling city full time, but she drops the bomb that she has a boyfriend … AWKWARD. Next, Laurel catches Oliver and Sara staring lovingly at one another and clocks on about them … DOUBLE AWKWARD. This family dinner is sinking faster than the Titanic. Laurel storms out; Oliver follows her and they have a blazing row. Felicity decides to take off to Oliver’s bank to get Tockman herself but the gang come to find her before she can get into trouble. Tockman and his goons show up and Arrow manages to foil the plan. Felicity saves Sara’s life, but gets shot. Felicity is in a lot of pain but pretty happy that she got to take a bullet for somebody. Laurel gets to talk to Sara and the sisters make amends, even if Laurel and Oliver won’t be friends for the time being. Sin walks in later, and it turns out that she is the daughter of the helicopter pilot who was killed on the island. THAT’s how they know each other! Oliver goes to his mother’s house, and walks in on her having a meeting with none other than Slade. What on earth does Slade want with Moira? And are Laurel and Oliver ever going to talk to one another again? Tune in next week to find out!
