Beauty and the Beast, S02E11 – “Held Hostage”

Gabe always has it tough in love and this newest episode of Beauty and the Beast is no different. Gabe tried to make Cat takes things slowly instead of going for it and seizing the moment. He even got the chance to tell Vincent that Cat was the one pursuing him for once. But as the episode unfolded and Cat and Vincent reconnected over the neckalce, it seemed that things for Gabe started to take a turn. Speaking of this necklace, it has a very intense and storied past. The over 10000 year old necklace has a power over beasts that are in posession of it – it sort of lulls them into a stupefied state. This was demonstrated just after Tori put the necklace on and Cat easily knocked her out. Also, when Vincent had the gem on, he couldn’t hear Cat calling out to him for help. Weird, but also this necklace could be a key to the mystery behind the origin of the beasts. It’s still unclear how the Russians tie in, but that will surely be revealed. What’s also unclear is if this is in cahoots with Muirfield or independent. Tess’s birthday was a total bust, and can you blame her for thinking so? Freddy died. Even though Vincent couldn’t hear Cat’s cries for help, he still returned to the store and saved his friend’s lives. These are the moments that keep Vincent feeling dynamic, sympathetic and human. The episode ended with Cat and Vincent reconnecting…something which feels long overdue and very important to the show. Do you think that Vincent and Cat will get together? What do you think the Russians have to do with everything? What about the necklace? Tune into BATB every week to find out the answer to these questions… and many more!
