Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 3 Episode 2 Recap: Is Nick Free from His Demons?

With Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) now crowned the Queen of Hell, Episode 2 of the new part saw her take on those responsibilities. As part of her duties, Lilith (Michelle Gomez) first assigned Sabrina to drag two different souls to hell. Those of individuals who had been very malicious.

Though a reluctant Sabrina was questioning the task, the Prince of Hell, Prince Caliban (Sam Corlett), was watching in the shadows (hypothetically) and waiting for Sabrina to trip up. This was deemed like a side task to the main protagonist at first since the Dark Lord was still possessing her boyfriend Nick (Gavin Leatherwood). In fact, a big move like a soul transfer (move the Dark Lord’s presence into another body) was the ideal option for Sabrina.

However, something just clicked. The teen realized that a soul transfer could be done with the two individuals she needed to drag to hell. Nevertheless, things are easier said (or thought) than done. The first soul that needed to be extracted was that of an old man named Robert Robertson. With Sabrina just about to send off Robertson in the right vehicle to hell, she ultimately backed out and sent him off into the world again.

The other soul that needed to be dragged was that of the seemingly innocent ice cream man, Jimmy Platt. However, Platt had sinister motives and happened to hold a young person hostage. After the quartet of Sabrina, Theo (Lachlan Watson), Roz (Jaz Sinclair), and Harvey (Ross Lynch) came across an ad for a missing little girl named Lucy Anderson, Roz senses Jimmy abducted her.

A determined Sabrina seemed intent on taking down the evil ice cream man. And ultimately perform a soul transfer of the Dark Lord into him. This needed to be done quick, as the Dark Lord sent out his beetles to wreak havoc on Hilda Spellman (Lucy Davis) and others. After visiting Lucy’s mother, Sabrina and Roz got together. They performed a “Whispering Gallery Spell” through a pinwheel that both they and Lucy had. Both teens then learn Lucy was being held in a frigid freezer (makes sense considering Platt’s the ice cream man). And Sabrina teleported to said location to rescue the girl.

In turn, Sabrina gets jammed in the freezer and is saved by Lilith. Platt is soon dragged to hell, but a soul transfer cannot be performed. Meanwhile, Ambrose (Chance Perdomo) and Prudence (Tati Gabrielle) return from Scotland with Father Blackwood (Richard Coyle). Then it is implied the soul transfer is done between Father Blackwood and Nick. This freeing Sabrina’s boyfriend from his Dark Lord control.

With a sigh of relief, Sabrina is ecstatic to have Nick back. With Lucy also safe, all is seemingly well. However, Roz and Harvey are hanging out in the woods. And Harvey sees bright lights in the distance that ends up looking like a mysterious carnival…
