Thursday Twitter Takeover: Illana Raia of Être

Each week, an accomplished published author takes over the YEM Twitter account for Thursday’s Twitter Takeover. Each week, the YA author will answer questions, tell stories, and give advice on our social media. This week author Illana Raia will be taking over our Twitter account.

Illana Raia is the founder of Être, a mentoring and resource site for motivated middle school girls. As Être means ‘to be,’ the goal is to help today’s girls figure out exactly who they want to be. Illana is also the author of “Être: Girls, Who Do You Want to Be?” Être means “to be.” And girls, middle school is not too young to ask yourself this all-important question: Who do YOU want to be? Above all, readers can think of this book as a smart big sister in your backpack. Similarly, it encourages you to stick with what you love. Therefore, it helps you springboard your authentic interests into more.

A bold, full color magazine-style collection of articles breaking down big ideas like financial confidence, mentorship, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship for today’s motivated girls. Organized by topic (#BeSmart, #BeWi$e, #BeInnovative), and featuring Insta-inspired graphics. Être offers wise words to world-changing girls . . . at exactly the right time. In this book are empowering quotes and interviews from luminary women alongside input from inspiring girls across the country.
