Disney’s summer hit Christopher Robin, starring the one and only Winnie the Pooh, is coming soon to DVD. The movie follows a grown up Christopher Robin, played by Ewan McGregor, as he reunites with his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood. Winnie the Pooh is joined by all his friends: Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, Kanga, and Roo. Pooh and his friends are taken into a new world: the world of England, where Christopher Robin lives with his family. Disney legend Jim Cummings voices Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, and YEM spoke to him about the movie and what makes Winnie the Pooh so lovable.
Young Entertainment Mag: The last Winnie The Pooh movie was released in 2011. What was it like to bring Winnie and Tigger back to the big screen?
Jim: It was an honor and pleasure. This was such a beautiful project. There’s something there for everyone.
YEM: Unlike other Winnie the Pooh projects, Christopher Robin takes Winnie and Tigger into a new world (London). Was it fun to bring Pooh and Tigger outside the Hundred Acre Wood?
Jim: Very much so. They look at the world with wide eyed wonder and a child-like innocence. [It’s evident when] Pooh is just walking up to people on the street and talking to them. As Chrisptopher Robin says, Pooh is just a little bit… different.
