Riverdale season three picks up three months after the events of the season two finale. Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) have once again solidified their relationship and are stronger than ever, but after a very low-key summer for the town, things start to pick back up again once school starts.
According to Reinhart, Bughead will start off the season, “rock solid,” with Betty and Jughead, along with the rest of the Southside Serpents, trying to keep the peace between themselves and the so-called Legion of Doom (Hiram Lodge, the Blossoms and the Ghoulies) which, honestly, probably won’t last very long.
With Jughead stepping up as the leader of the Serpents, fans can definitely expect Betty to be owning her new title as the ‘Serpent Queen,’ which Reinhart teased she would earn in the beginning of the season.
Jughead’s mother and sister, Jellybean, are returning to Riverdale sometime around episode eight or nine, so maybe we’ll have some awkward ‘meet the family’ moments in store for Betty.
Will a possible budding relationship between their parents Alice and F.P. have any ramifications on their relationship? Things might start to get a little confusing.
The duo will be paying homage to season one Bughead by rediscovering their investigative tendencies in order to unravel the latest mystery in Riverdale. It could be possible that they’ll try and uncover what exactly is going on with this mysterious cult entitled, ‘The Farm,’ that not only has Polly been staying with, but that she’s also convinced Alice to join.
What else is next for Riverdale’s cutest sleuthing couple? Tune into The CW on October 10th at 8/7c to find out!
