The First Look at Disney+ New Medical Series

Imagine this: You arrived at the hospital, in pain, and ready to be treated by a highly proficient doctor only to get a 16 year old girl come into your room and inform that she will be helping you today. Under normal circumstances that would be insane but, in the new upcoming series Doogie Kamealoha M.D. that’s a reality.

Disney+ took the original coming-of-age classic series Doogie Howser, M.D. (starred Neil Patrick Harris) and girled it up! The series will follow 16 year old genius, Lahela (nicknamed “Doogie” by her coworkers) Kamealoha (played by Peyton Elizabeth Lee) as she learns how to balance becoming an excellent doctor and her personal life as a teenage girl. Boy, she has got alot on her plate!

Helping her figure things out, is her go-getting mother Dr. Clara Hannon (played by Kathleen Rose Perkins) who is also her supervisor. Of course, this comes with embarrassment from Kamealoha side but, then again who isn’t embarrassed by their mom sometimes?

Kamealoha’s mother isn’t her only supporter. Oh no, backing her up are her loving and caring father Benny, her ad-lib older brother Kai, her companionable younger brotherBrain Patrick, and her best friend Steph. So, she has a whole support system ready to catch her incase she falls.

That’s not all. Just like with every teenager, she has a crush. It’s on the surfer dude, Walter. Well, all the fans got to say is that they don’t blame her. He is one fine specimen. Only time will tell if this crush turns into something more or if it is just a crush. Or if the series plans on throwing a different boy altogether.

The series is set to premiere on September 8 on Disney+. New episodes will be released every Wednesday. If you haven’t checked out the trailer yet, you can do so here!
