Guardians of the Galaxy is the newest movie to come out of the Marvel universe and one of the most hotly anticipated movies of the summer – with new reason. The Guardians of the Galaxy are a fictional superhero team that originated back in 1969 and then sporadically after. They’ve lived in many iterations but this installment is bigger and better than ever before.

The tenth film superhero film based on Marvel comics in their new iteration, this new ensemble cast includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, and Benicio del Toro. It’s been in development since 2012, not long by feature standards at all.  This film follows Chris Pratt as an American pilot named Peter Quill. Quill finds himself the object of an intergalactic manhunt after stealing an orb wanted by the super villain Ronan. In order to escape Ronan, Quill has to team up with a ragtag group including Gamora, Rocket, Drax the Destroyer, and Groot. The orb is more powerful than Quill even can begin to imagine, and when he discovers the true nature of the orb, he is forced into a battle by which the fate of the cosmos hangs in the balance.

The performances in this epic tale are highly praised so far and the special effects are unparalleled. Chris Pratt is likely to cement himself as the ultimate leading man after this turn if it’s successful, which it is on track to be.
