Heartstopper Renewed for 2 More Seasons

Those who’ve been craving more of the new TV sensation Heartstopper can finally breathe a sigh of relief: it’s been renewed for seasons two and three!

Based on the Alice Oseman webcomic of the same name, Heartstopper is a wholesome story about two teenage boys’ friendship blossoming into love. The webcomic first appeared on Tapas and Tumblr, where it amassed millions of readers. It first premiered on Netflix last month and has been praised for its positive and sweet portrayal of LGBTQ+ relationships.

In season one, viewers watched lovable nerd Charlie who, after coming out, fell in love with Nick, the rugby player with a heart of gold. They’ve grappled with bullies, self-acceptance, and all the pitfalls that accompany personal growth.

In its eight episodes, Heartstopper has also proved its commitment to diverse and loving friendships. Characters like Tara and Elle uplift their friends while coming to terms with their own LGBTQ+ identities. Season one also saw the introduction of characters like Tao Xu, Isaac Henderson, and Darcy Olsson. Hopefully, there will be more of them in the next two seasons!

As of now, there are no confirmed release dates. In the meantime, fans can look forward to the release of the comic’s final volume in 2023.
