Ever since sitting down with acclaimed YA author Julie Kagawa (of the masterful Iron Fey series), lots has been happening, some of which we’ve mentioned in our IN DEVELOPMENT Young Adult Movie section: the author is working on finishing up Talon, which takes place in a world where dragons can transform and disguise themselves as people. Providing opposition is a secret society of warriors dedicated to extinguishing them, and they have been at war for hundreds of years. Now, a young dragon and sworn dragon slayer have made a star-crossed connection.

The book has already been optioned and is in development to become a major film, even though it hasn’t been published yet!

Julie has also rounded out her Blood of Eden series with this past spring’s The Forever Song, which fans loved. She also posted this snarky and cute video on “Why I write YA”:
