Disney and Pixar have just released the first official trailer for their upcoming animated film “Luca”! The film is set in an Italian town on the Riviera. And is a coming of age story about a young boy named Luca and his new best friend Alberto. During this film the two of them spend an unforgettable summer in Italy and have many exciting adventures. Through all this fun the two have to hide a huge secret- they turn into sea monsters when they are in water.
This trailer is filled with so much vibrancy, color, and brings pure joy. It shows the two boys enjoying their summer with the picturesque Italian landscape. They are having the time of their lives. The seaside and the way Italy is depicted is so aesthetically beautiful in this film, as shown in the trailer. While the boys are running around we see them jump into the water where it is then revealed they are sea monsters. For the rest of the trailer we come to understand that no one else knows this secret. We see the treatment of sea monsters in the village through a quick glimpse of statues, and old historic figures.
“Luca” is directed by the Academy Award nominee Enrico Casarosa. Casarosa grew up on the Italian Riviera where the movie is set. Jacob Tremblay is the voice of Luca Paguro, the lead character. And Jack Dylan Grazer voices his friend, Alberto Scorfano. Giulia, a human girl in this film, is voiced by Emma Berman. Maya Rudolph and Jim Gaffigan are the voices of Luca’s parents.
If this film is as wonderful as the trailer makes it seem to be, it is sure to be a smashing success. We can not wait to watch this film when it premieres on June 18th.
