PSST….We Got Big News. You are going to have a new season of Never Have I Ever!
The show recently dropped the trailer for the new season on their Instagram account (check it out here).
Netflix has decided to bring the show back for season 3. Never Have I Ever follows the first generation Indian-American teen, Devi Vishwakumar (played by the lovely actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan). Young Devi wants to improve her social life at school. However, just like with all teens her friends and family don’t make it easier on her.
From the trailer alone, there are alot of returning characters seen. Of course, Ramakrishnan is returning as her leading role. Also, Poorna Jagannathan (plays Dr. Nalini), Darren Barnet (plays Paxton Hall-Yoshida), Romona Young (plays Elanor), and Richa Moorjani (plays Kamala) are all returning for the new season.
So, season 2 focused a lot on Devi’s boy troubles, competition with a new Indian student (Kamala), and desperation. Devi was also in a bit of a love triangle with Ben Gross (played by Jaren Lewison) and Paxton. Finally, she decided to take on both boys as her significant other. So, this upcoming season will have a little bit more spice than the previous ones as she juggles between the two boys. Knowing her, she is most likely going to struggle immensely and might even get caught.
This new season announcement came pretty quickly. Netflix announced it one month after the release of the series second season but it kind of makes sense. The characters of season 2 were already thinking about potential storylines if there was going to be a renewal. Could that mean that one of their answers is what Netflix plans on doing for the new season?
