New Music Friday: September 15th

Are you looking for some new songs to dd to your fall playlist? Check out this week’s new music releases! (Watch out if you are sensitive to language, one or two of these tunes have some explicit lyrics)

1. Victor Ray – “Stay For a While”

2. Ed Prosek – “Tell a Lie”

Singer-Songwriter Ed Prosek’s new song “Tell a Lie” off of his recent project The Foreigner, is a peaceful track that displays a powerful lyrical message with a simple and beautiful production. “Tell a Lie” is an echo of artists such as The Lumineers, Bon Iver and Gergory Alan Isakov, so if you are a fan of any of these artists (or even if you’re not), you will be sure to love this new project from Ed Prosek.

3. Nessa Barrett and Whethan – “sick of myself” (explicit)

Pop sensation Nessa Barrett teams up with producer Whethan to create this emotional and expressive new song “sick of myself”. This track pulls inspiration from artists like Olivia Rodrigo, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus. With musical elements of rock and emotional pop lyrics, Nessa Barrett has created an honest rock ballad that is sure to relate to everyone. 

4. Lovetta – “Gravity”

Lovetta, the alter ego of Roanoke’s Taylor Dupris, has just released the indie pop banger “Gravity”. Her music is emotional, raw, and relatable and just as authentic and romantic as her persona. Make sure to check out this track wherever you get your music!

5. Pendulum – “Colorfast”

“Colorfast” by Pendulum is an anthemic song that has their classic drum and bass sound. This song was used to announce their UK tour, and it is the perfect way to do so. This song is an incredible glimpse into electronic rock, and it is perfect if you are looking for a grand, anthemic tune. 

6. Matteo Bocelli – “For You”

Matteo Boccelli’s new self-titled album Matteo is set to release on September 22nd, and this single “For You” has us on the edge of our seat until then. This song is inspired by artists like Ed Sheeran and offers up a beautiful perspective on complex emotions. Listen to “For You” today and tune in for the EP release at the end of this month!

7. MS MR, alexmaax, & LPX – “Saturn Return”
Pop Duo MS MR teams up with alexmaax and LPX to give us this unique and surreal song “Saturn Return”. This song is the group’s final new release together. They describe this song as an “intimate rollercoaster” and created an aesthetically pleasing music video to go along with this track. The title “Saturn Return” fits perfectly with this extra-terrestrial masterpiece of a song.

8.  ZHU – “Changes”

Grammy nominee, ZHU has released several singles to precede his upcoming release GRACE in 2024. Our favorite of these is “Changes”. This song has a haunting, dreamlike feel that pairs well with the other tracks on this album and will leave you wanting more for ZHU. Give this song a listen today!

9. DROELOE – “Foolish Fish”

DROELOE has released his newest single “Foolish Fish” and you don’t want to miss it. If you are a fan of existential dance music, this song is sure to be a new favorite. This song is an all-around vibe and offers a multi-dimensional approach that can’t be found anywhere else. Listen to “Foolish Fish” today!

10. Taylor Acorn – “Certified Depressant”

Taylor Acorn has just released her song “Certified Depressant”, which is the title track off of her upcoming album. This song is fun, catchy and emotional all in one. This is a must listen if you like music in the realm of Miley Cyrus or Olivia Rodrigo. Check it out today and keep an eye out for future projects from Taylor Acorn. 

11. World’s Finest Cinema – “Palm Reader”

“Palm Reader” is the title track off of World’s Finest Cinema’s new EP. This song is catchy, mysterious and creative. It is a unique mixture of rock and orchestration and is sure to both surprise and draw you in. Just like their band name implies, this track has theatrics and drama that adds to this song’s production and makes it more of a journey than a song. You don’t want to miss it.

12. Roseburg – “Good Morning”

The newest release from indie alternative rock band Roseburg, is their album 2 in a Million. This project features several incredible songs, but the one that stood out to us was the first track “Good Morning”. This is a sweet love song that will have you smiling ear to ear. 13. Leah Culver and FRANK ZUMMO – “Deep Dive”

Leah Culver and Frank Zummo have created a vibey new track called “Deep Dive”. With Frank Zummo’s production, this song has reached top notch levels. This is the perfect track to crank the volume on when you’ve got the windows down! 

14. Eighty Ninety – “The Hard Way”

From indie pop brother duo Eighty Ninety, comes their newest love song “The Hard Way”. This is a cathartic, emotional and honest song that speaks to the romantic within each of us. 

15. Will Swinton – “Leave in the Morning”

Newcomer Will Swinton has just released his new single “Leave in the Morning” which is a new take on a classic love song. With an intense artistic music video, this song is brought to life in a way that we have never seen before. He draws us in with such simple and real emotion, especially with the line, “You don’t gotta leave in the morning. I’m begging baby please don’t close the door.” Listen to this tune today!

16. Flowerovlove – “Next Best Exit”

Flowerovlove’s debut single “Next Best Exit” is out now! This British indie pop queen has created an exhilarating pop bop with her enchanting vocals and introspective lyricism. Make sure to check out “Next Best Exit” now!

17. Sarah Reeves – “Best Days”

Sarah Reeves new 16 track project Zuma Beach features a new song “Best Days”. This song is light, fun and makes you feel like you are right there with her at Zuma Beach. 

18. Danny Silvertone – “New To You”

Inspired by artists like The Weeknd, Danny Silverstone’s song “New To You” is an R&B and alternative rock tune that is sure to get stuck in your head. It’s catchy and emotional and deep so don’t miss out of this track!

19. Gavin Magnus – “Psycho”

Sixteen-year-old Tik Tok sensation Gavin Magnus has dropped the next banger “Psycho”. This song is creative, well produced and offers up a bit of refreshing humor that the pop world has been looking for. This song is an absolute must for your next playlist.

20. Northpark – “Uno”

Northpark’s single “Uno” is out on all streaming platforms now. After the release from their debut album Wasteland, in June we have been waiting for their next project. “Uno” fulfilled that desire with this pop punk track.

21. Luna Aura – “Candy Colored Daydreams”

Luna Aura’s song “Candy Colored Daydreams” is the precursor to her EP The Fiction that is to be released on September 14th. This song is a hyper pop tune with an incredible music video that is inspired by the film ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’. If you are looking for an upbeat pop song to sum up the summer, this is the perfect track!
