New Music Fridays: A Carver Twins Playlist

The Carver twins just made it into another film. Not just any film but The Batman. If you aren’t familiar with the Carver twins, they are two 33-year-old actors, Charlie and Max. They have been cast in numerous TV shows like Teen Wolf, Ratched, The Boys in the Band. They most recently entered the DC universe as bouncers for the ultra-exclusive club, the Iceberg Lounge, in The Batman starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravtiz.

So when did they get their start? The two were born in San Fransico, California. They attended high school at St. Paul’s Boarding School in Concord, New Hampshire. Charlie left to attend Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan his sophomore year. Both of them attended the prestigious University of Southern California. Charlie also studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. Then the two took off. So, of course, there is a playlist surrounding their careers.

We must begin with none other than Teen Wolf, what the Carver twins are most known for. But before they appeared on the hit teen show, the twins appeared on Desperate Housewives as Porter and Preston Scavo. So “God Bless The American Housewife” by SHeDAISY. On Teen Wolf the brothers appeared together in season 3 as a pair of twin alpha werewolves. Charlie played Ethan Steiner, and Max plays Aiden Steiner. Charlie also appeared in Season 6B of the show. Featured in the playlist are songs that appeared in Teen Wolf like “Ava” by Famy, “Who Are You Really” by Mikky Ekko, “My Own” by Whitaker,” I Found” by Amber Run, and “The Last One I Made” by Pim Stones.

Next up is Ratched in which Charlie played Huck Finnigan alongside the always-amazing Sarah Paulson. Of course, the “Ratched Theme” by DistroMobile was added to set the scene for the psychological thriller. Adding to the creepiness, “Nurse’s Office” by Melanie Martinez was added alongside “Psycho Thriller” by the Talking Heads, “Killer Queen” by Queen, and “Panic Room” by Au/Ra.

Charlie also appeared as Cowboy in The Boys in the Band. This is the ultra funny comedy in which a surprise guest turns an evening upside down when he interrupts a gathering of gay men in 1968 New York City. What is so interesting about the film is the cast is made up of exclusively openly gay actors. Charlie came out as gay in 2016. To commemorate the film, the playlist has “This Guy’s In Love With You” by Herb Albert and The Tijuana Brass, “Good Lovin’ Ain’t Easy To Come By” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, “(Love Is Like A) Heat Wave” by Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, “Round Midnight” by Miles Davis, and “Dream A Little Dream Of Me” by Doris Day.

Finally is the most recent project with the Carver twins,The Batman. The world lost it when they saw their favorite twins going head-to-head with one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. Were the twins roles more important than everyone thought? Fans think that because the twins were working for the Penguin, they will be playing the villainous dynamic duo, Tweedledee and Tweedledum from the comics. Fingers crossed this means the Carver’s will be appearing in the next Batman films. Matt Reeves ‘Kurt Cobain’ style Batman made the soundtrack super angsty so included in the playlist is “The Batman” by Michael Giacchino, “Something In The Way” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana, “Superstar” by Sonic Youth, and “And I Love Her” by Kurt Cobain.
