YA: Are we going to see more Ellis in Season 2?
JC: I wish I could tell you. But unlike my character on SMASH – Jaime can keep a secret. You’ll just have to tune in to find out.
YA: How do you get yourself ready for a role?
JC: I have a lot of tricks I use to “find myself” in the characters I have to audition for – or play – but a good actor/actress never reveals his/her tricks. I will say though that whenever I learn my lines I don’t speak them at first – I’ll run them in my head until I know them – and then I’ll start playing with them until I find it. This way I won’t get bad habits right off the bat.
YA: I heard you’re pursuing a music career, what’s that been like?
JC: Exhausting! I have a team working with me – but I’m doing all the writing and rehearsing with my band – So its been a little stressful to work around schedules and set up shows and do interviews and photos and yadda yadda. But It’s been exhilarating as well. I love writing music – and people seem to dig my stuff – so here’s goes!
YA: What else do you have coming up?
JC: There are a few projects I’ll be working on in 2013 – but unfortunately we have to keep it hush hush due to contracts and such. I just had a showcase of my music for a few Labels about a week ago – a lots going on there. Finally, some of my colleagues and I are in the process of creating our own Arts Collective called The Midnight Society. You’ll be hearing from us very soon.
