Harry Potter. Twilight. The Hunger Games. YA fiction is known for being a place of sequels and series. But there are a few extremely popular titles out there that are stand-alone brilliant, ones that should spark series but haven’t (yet). Some are so popular, they have films adaptations coming out soon. Which of the below titles would you most like to see continue?

The film adaptation will star the YA starlet-of-the-moment, Shailene Woodley. Granted, this ending MAY not lend itself to a continuation of the story (no spoilers), but the novel is so well written, with such a strong following, a follow-up story might be in order… |
A gripping, Auster-like world in which a high-school student returns home to find an anonymous package addressed to him, containing tapes that record the thirteen reasons why Hannah, his school crush, decided to end her life two weeks earlier. The film version is set to star none other than Selena Gomez, and we would love to see where this could go next!

While wartime dramas rarely seem appropriate for series, this inventive tale of Liesel, who shares the books she steals with a Jewish refugee hiding out in her home during WWII, is so fascinating that a further exploration would be more than welcome.
