Ravenswood is the story of five teens somehow all connected. The five find themselves trapped in a car at the bottom of a lake—a story that happened a century ago, replicating itself in the present. Who are these characters, and how exactly are they connected?
Caleb makes his way over from Pretty Little Liars (PLL) to Ravenswood. The crossover moment happens when he makes his way over to the town of Ravenswood to help his girlfriend, Hannah, at a mysterious graveyard Halloween party. On the bus ride over he meets Miranda. The two automatically form this amazing connection, and when they enter the graveyard they are shocked to find gravestones with their names and pictures engraved upon them. Creepy? Yes. Answers? Knowing the production team over at PLL, we’ll probably have to wait a few seasons before we get some. Lets just enjoy the crazy spooky ride. Caleb’s (aka Tyler Blackburn’s) charm and assuredness is what’s going to make this ABC Family show a success. We know some of his background from PLL, but hopefully we’ll get to learn more about his family’s past and the real reason ‘A’ has it in for him and his family. And who knows, there may even be some new ‘A’s’ to face. Miss Grunwald, anyone? |
Miranda (Nicole Gale Anderson), scared of the creepy guy in the back of the bus, finds comfort in Caleb. Without any prior connection, they form a bond to protect each other. After a terrifiing night of getting lost in her uncle’s Haunted Mansion, Caleb stays to help Miranda find her uncle and learn the secret of the gravestones. When they return to the house, her uncle is found to be the owner of a chapel and is surrounded by death and lots of coffins (the creepiness continues). Nicole was last seen in ABC Family’s Make it or Break it. | Remy Beaumont (the electrifying Britne Oldford of American Horror Story andSkins), social outcast of the group, works for her dad at the local paper. Caleb and Miranda storm in asking questions about the gravestones they found, but are stopped by Remy’s dad. Remy finds the time to make the exception but can’t find answers, just more questions. But Remy mentions a curse and how events are reproducing themselves from a past everyone is trying to forget. |
Luke (Brett Dier) is mentioned in PLL as the ‘board shorts guy’, but we’re not sure if he actually is or not. Dating Remy has its perks, and even though she tried covering up the fact that Luke’s mom may have killed his dad, Remy’s dad wouldn’t listen and reported the news anyway. Luke is seen as the protective brother to Olivia, however he should also be seen as the guy without his shirt; we’ve seen him without it in The L.A. Complex and now we hope to see the same here in Ravenswood. | Olivia Matheson (Merritt Patterson) is the popular good girl; at least that’s what’s been shown so far. Her brother Luke tries protecting her from a town that thinks their mother is guilty of killing their father. But Luke is at a loss when someone throws red dye all over her dress at the Homecoming Parade (Carrie, anyone?). The same red is seen earlier in the episode when their father’s grave was spray-painted on and defaced. Hmm… |
At the end of the episode these five disparate yet entangled characters end up in a car together, and after a woman in black steps out in the middle of the road, the car swerves, forcing it off the road where it plunges into a lake. In true creepy TV form, stay tuned to find out what happens next!
