If you’ve had your finger on anything YA lately, you know about the upcoming film version of Veronica Roth’s brilliant YA sci-fi hit Divergent, due out next year. As mentioned in our casting roundup, the lead role of Tris has been secured by The Descendants’ standout young actress Shailene Woodley, but the question on everybody’s mind is, who will play her instructor and love interest Tobias/Four?

Word on the street is that Alex Pettyfer, Lucas Till and Jeremy Irvine have all auditioned for the role, but Divergent fans everywhere have shared their feelings on other excellent potential leading young men to play the intense but conflicted Four. A. Lucas Till –  known as Havok in the latest X-Men reboot First Class, Till is one of three actors currently in the running for the role and considered a favorite.

B. Jeremy Irvine –  planted firmly on the map in Steven Spielberg’s epic War Horse, Irvine has a vulnerable look that can also turn hard in the blink of an eye – perfect for Four!

C. Alex Pettyfer –  rounding out the top three hopefuls, this busy actor made the cut of our first casting roundup, and adding Divergent to his already impressive resume would be a perfect next step for him.

D. Drew Roy –  from Falling Skies and Hannah Montana, the attractive brunette actor scored the highest vote on the Divergent wiki pages amongst dedicated fans of the series!

E. Colton Haynes –  getting considerable notice as Jackson on Teen Wolf, Haynes has also scored high with fans and perhaps nails the intense and brooding look of Four the best.
