Top 10 Things to Read, Watch & Listen to from January 15-January 21

We’re now halfway into the month of January, everybody. The cold season hangs over us this month, but that doesn’t stop us from delivering you what’s next on the list for your entertainment needs! Heads up, there will be light spoilers about the National Treasure: Edge of History and Star Wars: The Bad Batch, so be sure to watch the latest episode first before you read the next parts.

That ’90s Show – 1/19/23

As a direct sequel to The ’70s Show which took place in the 1970s, The ’90s Show takes place in 1995 with the daughter of Eric and Donna, both of whom will be reprised by the original actors Topher Grace and Laura Prepon. Callie Haverda stars as Leia Forman, who will be visiting her grandparents Red and Kitty Forman (both starred by Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp respectively) and bonding with the newer generation of Point Place kids. Rhys Lewis “Corner of the Sky” – 1/20/23

For those who are fans of Rhys Lewis, here’s some news for you! His latest album Corner of the Sky will be set to release on January 20th of this year. For those who need a refresher on this artist, Lewis is a British singer-songwriter who released his debut album, Things I Chose To Remember, back in April 2020. For those who have followed his musical career until now, be sure to keep an eye on the date for his album’s release.

MISSING – 1/20/23

To those who have a love for thrilling mysteries from a whole different perspective, MISSING will be released on January 20th of this year. Storm Reid stars as June, a young teenager who’s on the search for her missing mother. When her mother disappears with her new boyfriend in Colombia, June uses whatever technology she has at hand to find her before it’s too late. But the more she unravels the mystery of her mother’s disappearance, June slowly begins to realize that her mother had hidden things that made June doubt what she knew about her mother if she even knew her at all. Catch this movie in theatres on January 20th!

Lauren Cimorelli “I Hate All Your Friends” – 1/20/23

To those who have heard of the group Cimorelli, Lauren Cimorelli is the second, youngest sister in the group who has released notable songs such as Acid Rain and Never Let Me Fall. Fans of hers will be delighted to hear that she will be releasing one of her anticipated songs, I Hate All Your Friends on January 20th of this year! And for those who are extra curious, Cimorelli’s latest album Please Stop My Breaking Heart is set to be released on February 3rd of this year, with this song on its list. Be sure to keep an eye out for Cimorelli’s single and album release!

The Last of Us in HBO Max – 1/15/23

For those who played this game back in 2013, or for those who are currently playing the game now, there’s a chance that you’ll know what this story will be about. But for those who aren’t aware of this show’s release or its origin, here’s a little snippet of what you’ll expect. Meet Joel and Ellie, two survivors who live in a post-apocalyptic world in the U.S. Joel was hired to smuggle Ellie out of an oppressive, quarantined area, and what was initially introduced to be just a small job, ends up becoming something bigger. For those curious about how their journey will end, and see how that they’ll survive together, be sure to keep an eye on the date and watch this show on HBO Max.

National Treasure: Edge of History Episode 7 – 1/18/23

We have reached the point of no return…literally! Jess had sacrificed everything to confront her father’s killer, all for the piece of the map. But when the meeting becomes something world-shattering for Jess, she has to quickly make a decision that could potentially put her in prison for life. Another Dimension of Us by Mike Albo – 1/17/23

Are you interested in Stranger Things? What about The Breakfast Club? If those two interest you, you’ll definitely love Another Dimension of Us. Meet Tommy Gate, a teen who’s in love with his best friend, Renaldo Calabasas. But because of the AIDS crisis with the homophobia that ran rampant in the U.S., Tommy can’t reveal his feelings to him. This all changed when Renaldo was struck by lightning and came out as an entirely different boy. Cut to 2044, where Pris Devrees wakes up from a strange nightmare about Tommy, and the local neighborhood house called ‘The Murder House’. Upon exploring the house and discovering a book on transdimensional travel, it’s up to Pris and Tommy, and their friends to save Renaldo from a demon, all while trying to navigate through love, sexuality, and friendship. Be sure to keep an eye out for this book’s release on Barnes and Noble.

Star Wars: Bad Batch Episode 204 – 1/18/23

Is everyone ready for the next episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch? We had a lot happen in the last episode, what with Commander Cody and Crosshair’s mission to rescue the Imperial governor Grotton and the aftermath of what had happened on that mission. The next episode Faster will air on January 18th, so be sure to keep a lookout for its release on Disney+.

Mysteries of Thorn Manor by Margaret Rogerson – 1/17/23

For those who have read the first novella written by the same author, Sorcery of Thorns, the author Margaret Rogerson is set to release its sequel Mysteries of Thorn Manor through Barnes and Noble on January 17th. For Elisabeth Scrivener, things have finally settled down with her new life and with the sorcerer, Nathaniel Thorn. Silas has returned, but something strange is happening in Thorn Manor. For some strange reason, the manor had started trapping people inside, and what’s unfortunate about this is that this had happened just when Nathaniel and Elisabeth were starting to grow closer to each other. Join Nathaniel, Elisabeth, Silas, and the new maid Mercy as they try to unravel what’s happening with the wards around the manor, all before they can host the city’s Midwinter Ball. Be sure to keep an eye out for this book’s release.

Say Lou Lou “Waiting For a Boy” – 1/20/23

For those who need a refresher on this band, Say Lou Lou is a band made by twin sisters, Miranda Anna and Elektra June Kilbey-Jansson. Their music is known to have a ‘dreamy-pop’ feel to it, with the artists claiming that their music is ‘organic’ with ‘ethereal music landscapes’ that are accompanied by vocals and ‘flowy instruments’. For those who have heard of the song Fool of Me, these are the artists who made that single. For those who have been listening to these artists for a while, the two are about to release their latest single Waiting For a Boy on January 20th of this year.
