Top 10 Things to Read, Watch & Listen to from October 1st- October 8th

This week’s Top 10 is an absolute must read. Whether you are looking for a good book to curl up with or a new series to binge, we’ve got your back!

1) Omar Apollo – Live For Me

This Friday, get ready for the pop icon Omar Apollo’s new EP Live For Me. This project has been heavily anticipated by fans, and not without good reason. The 26-year-old R&B songwriter has pre-released a single off of this project called “Ice Slippin’” which has left listeners craving more. Apollo has tour dates coming up with R&B powerhouse Daniel Caesar so if you’re a fan of Daniel, you’re sure to like Omar Apollo’s new EP. 2) Salt the Water by Candice Iloh

This book written by Candice Iloh (author of Every Body Looking) features main character Cerulean Gene, a free-spirited teen who wants to achieve their dream of living off the grid after high school graduation. It is a story that encourages reader to think of the future and their youth and how to make the most of time here on earth. This is a must read for everyone who is a dreamer looking to be inspired. Look for it anywhere you get your books on October 3rd.  

3) “The Spencer Sisters” 

New from the CW network is “The Spencer Sisters”, a dramedy that stars Lea Thompson from hit show “Switched at Birth” and Stacy Farber from “Degrassi”. This new series follow the mother daughter duo that often gets mistaken for sisters as they take on life and solve mysteries together. Tune in to the CW on October 4th to see what Darby and Victoria Spencer are up to in “The Spencer Sisters”.

4) Kindling

Check out new movie Kindling this week and watch as a group of young guys venture back to their hometown in order to help their friend live out the last days of his life with style. This movie is a beautiful representation of life and of friendship. If you like a good drama film like The Fault in Our Stars or Five Feet Apart then you are sure to enjoy this celebration of bonding and of love and of life.  Check out this film from creator Connor O’Hara on October 3rd.

5) “LOKI” 

This week on Disney +, find the newest season of the popular Marvel series, LOKI. This is the third addition to the post-Endgame story and fans are buzzing with excitement for it. Join LOKI (Tom Hiddleston) as he resumes his villainous role of “god of mischief” in the latest season of this hit series. 

6) Prince of Thorns and Nightmares by Lindsey Miller

If you are a fan of Disney Princesses at all, this book is the perfect tale for you. This book in an addition to a series by Lindsey Miller that follows Disney Princes through their tales and tell their side of the story. In this book Prince of Thorns and Nightmares, we get to be inside the mind of Prince Phillip from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty as he braves trials and finds his sleeping princess bride. 

7) Hannah Diamond – Perfect Picture

Hannah Diamond is releasing her second studio album Perfect Picture this Friday and you are not going to want to miss it. It features previously released singles such as “Poster Girl” and “Staring at the Ceiling” which are available for streaming now.  Hannah Diamond is an incredibly talented musician and visual artist, so you are not going to want to miss out on this project! 

8) “Sullivan’s Crossing”

This week, make sure to tune into CW’s new series “Sullivan’s Crossing” to see neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan return to her small town. Watch as she runs into characters from her past including Cal Jones, played by Chad Michael Murray who you may recognize from “One Tree Hill” or his appearances on the CW classic “Riverdale”. The show also stars Scott Patterson from “Gilmore Girls” as the character “Sully”. If you are looking for a new fall drama, make sure to keep an eye out for this new series!

9) Baby Queen – Quarter Life Crisis

Baby Queen’s 21 song album Quarter Life Crisis is dropping this Friday and it is a must listen. It features already released songs such as “Dream Girl” and “Dover Beach” that are absolutely amazing works of audio art. If you like anything Miley Cyrus or Selena Gomez, you have to check out this new album.

10) Monster High 2

Nickelodeon original film “Monster High 2” is set to release on October 5th. This sequel follows characters Clawdeen Wolf, Draculaura, and Frankie Stein into their sophomore year at Monster High. The group faces various challenges such as new students, new powers and potentially world changing threats. Make sure to tune in to see how these girls navigate their second year at Monster High.
