Eliza Hull – “Echoes”
Teen Wolf, season 4 Episode 10
This eerie, flawless track is playing as Stiles and Malia talk at the hospital. The sound of this symphonic song, much like its title, is filled with echoes, and we love its ethereal feel. Eliza Hull is from Melbourne, although she has garnered success internationally and has completed a US and European tour this year. This track comes from her 2013 EP ‘The Ghosts You Never Catch’, from which the lead track “Christopher”was featured on MTV’s Awkward.

The Alternate Routes – “Nothing More”
Pretty Little Liars, season 5 Episode 12
This scores the scene in PLL when Aria and Ezra are making food for Thanksgiving, whilst Toby visits Spencer and she gives him a gift. It’s uplifting, with a come together vibe which is perfect for the conciliatory vibe of the scene. The Alternate Routes met at college in 2002 and have been making good vibes ever since, winning an Independent Music Award in 2006 for their track Ordinary. “Nothing More”has been a prolific track for them, featuring on the 2013 Christmas episode of NCIS and the opening ceremony for the 2014 Winter Olympics. We’re looking forward to their fourth album, of the same name, coming out later this year.
Denmark and Winter – “We Gotta Get Out of This Place”
Pretty Little Liars, season 5 Episode 12
This is a very special cover version of The Animals’ 1965 track which is completely appropriate given that it accompanies the very end of the finale where the town assembles outside Mona’s house and her death is declared a homicide. Denmark and Winter are favorites of ours, having featured on PLL before with a reimagining of “Every Breath You Take”by The Police. Check out their unsettling version of the song here:
Madi Diaz – “Tomorrow”
Finding Carter, season 1 Episode 9
This infectious chorus plays as Taylor and the gang hang out and talk at school; the sentiment of the song fits the optimism of the scene. Madi Diaz is American born and raised, and spent some time living in Nashville after college and catching Paste Magazine’s eye at SXSW in ’09, when they named her one of “Top Ten Buzziest Acts”. She’s now living in Los Angeles, and most recently released album We Threw Our Hearts In The Fire in October 2012. We think she’s going to be a big star so remember the name!
Lykke Li – “No Rest For The Wicked”
Finding Carter, season 1 Episode 9
Lykke Li provides the soundtrack as Carter rides in the car with Crash and throws David’s manuscript into the wind. Lykke Li has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and rightly so. Her first single “Little Bit” featured an electrifying remix with rapper Drake, and she has also collaborated with Kanye West on “Gifted”. She’s had her music featured in everything from Hawaii Five-O to The Vampire Diaries to 2013 movie Blue is the Warmest Colour and won a host of Swedish Grammys. She has also featured as a guest vocalist on auteur director David Lynch’s second studio album. So, in short, she’s had an extremely interesting career thus far and we hope for much more to come. This track is pulled from her third studio album, I Never Learn.
