About the Album: Well Hello Mr. Schuster! While the cast of Glee hasn’t shied away from exploring their own musical inclinations, this is the first foray from their fearless leader. Matthew Morrison, a veteran stage actor, is going back to his Broadway roots with Where It All Began, out on June 4. The collection features 12 Broadway classics from a West Side Story medley to “Singin’ in the Rain.” It will be the first studio album released by Adam Levine’s new label 222 Records. The album’s June release coincides with a PBS special special, Matthew Morrison: Where It All Began – Live From the Bushnell, airing on June 1st. On the album, Morrison was quoted saying: I enjoyed the journey back to my roots on this new album,” the Glee actor says in a statement. “This is the album I’ve always wanted to make, and I am looking forward to sharing the experience with everyone.”
Track Spotlight: Singing In the Rain is a song / medley that needs a certain amount of lightness and gaiety to really soar. Matthew Morrison brings that to the song – and he’s no stranger to it as it was performed on Glee in a mash up with Rihanna’s umbrella.
