All your dreams are about to come true because the newest Disney+ movie, Godmothered, is streaming now! The movie stars Isla Fisher who meets Jillian Bell’s character who is a Fairy Godmother in training. Willa Skye stars as Mia, the main character’s daughter. The family has faced loss and grief, but the Fairy Godmother in training is determined to give them a happily ever after. 10-year-old Willa Skye has been acting since she was 6 years old. This is her first appearance in a Disney movie! See YEM’s interview with Willa below to fins out what it was like to be part of a magical movie.
Young Entertainment Mag: Why did you decide to pursue acting?
Willa Skye: I decided to pursue acting because it is so fun and it has always been my dream!
YEM: How does it feel to be a part of the Disney film Godmothered?
Willa: It feels really magical, and I still can’t believe I got the role!!
YEM: Tell us about your character Mia.
Willa: Mia is a kind, loving, and a brave little girl. She loves animals, and her family- that includes Eleanor!
YEM: Godmothered is about a second chance at a happily ever after. Why do you think that’s an important message especially around the Holidays?
Willa: It’s always important to appreciate and be grateful for the loved ones in your life, and everything that you have. The holidays are a perfect time to remember that!
YEM: The film also portrays the danger of losing something like the fairy godmother profession. Why do you think it’s valuable to make sure we don’t lose believing in things like fairy godmothers?
Willa: Because we always need hope! Without hope life would be so sad!
YEM: What was it like getting to work with Isla Fisher?
Willa: Isla is such a great movie mom. She is also the nicest person in real life! I hope to work with her again soon!
YEM: What’s a favorite memory you have being on set of Godmothered?
Willa: I have SO many amazing memories, but one of my favorites was meeting the Bingo the piggie!!
YEM: You’ve said you enjoy making mocktails as a hobby. What’s the best drink you’ve made so far?
Willa: Definitely a mocktail Mai Tai- you can look up the recipe if you want. It’s really really yummy!
YEM: What’s a dream acting project you’d like to be a part of in the future?
Willa: Probably the voice of an animated character in a movie or tv show!
