I first heard the song Holding a Heart on the show Switched at Birth. The song has also been on other shows such as One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries, and the movie What’s Your Number. Each show depicts the song in a different way, and according to Toby when the song was first created it was about a “state of vulnerability.”

Toby’s next album will be coming out soon, but you can check out her songs on her website: www.tobylightman.com.  She is also performing in a few concerts, which are set for this month.  According to Toby, “the best thing about getting up on stage is the adrenaline rush.”  She constantly has people covering her songs and sending them to her.  She said she’d love it if a good artist covered her song.  The Black Keys were first to come to mind.

Music is Toby’s main pursuit, “all music all the time, and finding different and fun ways to do that.”  If it was still summer, she would love to go to the beach. We asked her what book she is currently reading.   Her response – “Bossypants by Tina Fey.”
