It’s March Madness baby! Familiar with the NCAA college basketball tournament? If not, March Madness is the single-elimination basketball tournament for the best college teams in the country. Each weekend different teams play and only one moves forward to the next round. One is crowned national champion. What makes March, well, mad is all of the predictions of what teams will move forward in the tournament. People create their own brackets and predict the tournament before it is completed.

We have decided to create Young Entertainment’s very March Madness, with a twist. Below are iconic couples from this year’s film and television. Each week the couples will go head-to-head to determine who is the best pair. After the 4th round, the final two couples will face off in the championship to see who is the best match of March Madness. Make sure to vote each week on who you think is the best couple!

Round One Couples:

Victor and Benji – Love, Victor VS. Eric and Adam – Sex Education

A tough face-off to start March Madness. While at a crossroads, Victor and Benji have been through it all from coming out as an openly gay couple to opening up about drug addiction. It seems the two always find their way back to another, though. Eric and Sam, on the other hand, began their relationship as the bully and the bullied. It wasn’t until Sam opened up about his feelings towards Eric that sparks started to fly.

Maeve and Otis – Sex Education VS. Seb and Carlos – HSMTMTS

Two couples the world will always be rooting for, but one must be chosen. Maeve and Otis have always known they should be together, but the timing was never matching up. Seb and Carlos set a new standard at East High for being one of the only out couples at their school. Also, they sing songs for each other. It doesn’t get much cuter than that.

Betty and Archie – Riverdale VS. Mia and Andrew – Love, Victor

Betty and Archie from Riverdale or Mia and Andrew from Love, Victor? From being childhood best friends to fighting crime to dating other people, Betty and Archie wouldn’t be the couple they are today if it wasn’t for the obstacles they have gone through. Even with death, destruction, and mystery, the two are finally together.
What makes Mia and Andrew so enticing is Mia’s denial of her emotions for Andrew at the beginning, but she can’t shake her true feelings for him.

Sarah Cameron and John B – Outer Banks VS. Nate and Cassie – Euphoria

Okay, okay. This may be near impossible. Both couples are complex and have a whirlwind romance. John B would do anything for Sarah, his love for her is evident. You know who else would do anything for their SO? Cassie for Nate. The on-again-off-again Nate and Cassie are connected at the hip from the looks of the latest episode of Euphoria. They have electricity, but do they have trust?

MJ and Peter Parker – Spiderman 3 VS. Eleven and Mike – Stranger Things

This round-up is too cute. What could be more wholesome than MJ and Peterparker from Spiderman 3: No Way Home or Eleven and Mike from Stranger Things? MJ and Peter have saved the world together, and, now that we think about it, so have Eleven and Mike. MJ and Peter fell in love after the second Spider-Man film in the trilogy when she figured out Peter was indeed Spider-Man. No Way Home left audiences with heartbreak. MJ figured out who Spider-Man was once..could she do it again? Eleven and Mike’s young love isn’t like the rest of early teen relationships. They have to fight Demogorgon’s instead. The initial friendship built around protecting one another turned into a perfect relationship.

Young Cal and Eric – Euphoria VS. Her and Him – Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well”

Oof, this is something. One must choose! Young Cal and Eric from Euphoria or Her and Him for Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well” music video? Young Cal and Eric are special because they found their true selves together; something they feared they couldn’t be with anyone else. While Her and Him had some major blowups in “All Too Well,” the highs the two had together were enough to forget the bad.

Lara and Peter – To All the Boys Always and Forever VS. Sabrina and Nicholas – The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Spooky or sweet? Cast your vote on who is the best couple! Lara and Peter from To All The Boys Always and Forever have had three movies worth of their ups and downs, but who could forget when Nicholas said to Sabrina, “I don’t care about the world, I only care about you.”

Callie and Jamie – Good Trouble VS. Devi and Paxton – Never Have I Ever

Callie and Jamie were friends-with-benefits turned exclusive. Jamie is in the corporate world while Callie wants the completely different, but that’s why they say opposites attract. Devi Has Been In Love With Paxton Since The 3rd Grade. Their relationship has been a friendship first and in turned into something more later. It is obvious that they both care for each other very much.

Big Red and Ashlyn – HSMTMTS VS. Felix and Pilar – Love, Victor

How adorable. Big Red and Ashlyn are the quirky yet passionate couple the world didn’t know they needed. Who could forget their song, Red Means Love?
With Felix and Pilar, they look out for one another. Pilar has been through family drama, so she knows how to empathize with Felix. When Pilar decided to give Felix her concert money to help pay for his bills, it was clear they were a match.

Lily and Ola – Sex Education VS. Ricky and Nini – HSMTMTS

Lily and Ola explored new territory in Sex Education. The two go through a bit of a learning curve when they first kiss but are stronger than ever by the end of season 3.
Ricky and Nini tested the limits of their relationship. When they were together it was like nothing could keep them apart. They even made it through Nini attending boarding school. Will we see their spark return in season 3 of HSMTMTS?

Deja and Malik – This is Us VS. Zoey and Aaron – Grown-ish

Deja and Malik get major screen time in season 6 of This Is Us. The two are stronger than ever when Deja goes to visit Malik at Harvard, but will the obstacles they have to face hurt them or help them?
Zoey and Aaron have taken audiences on a real roller coaster of emotions, including a marriage and a divorce. Will they finally catch a break? Is their relationship end game?

Cheryl and Toni – Riverdale VS. Skylar and Tessa – The In-Between

Ohh so spicy. The queens Cheryl and Toni or “Choni” had a friendship turned whirlwind romance. Despite Cheryl’s initial distaste for Southside Serpents, she found her way to the dark side. Skylar and Tessa have a connection that goes beyond our very own world, literally. What connection could be stronger than your dead boyfriend trying to communicate with you?

Emily and Gabriel – Emily in Paris VS. Rue and Jules – Euphoria

“We never really had a chance. But at least now we have this one perfect thing. I feel like I’m dreaming and I don’t want to wake up.” ― Emily to Gabriel. We know Emily is in love with Gabriel, but can he finally let his true feelings fly and be with Emily? Or will it be Rue and Jules? Starting from the beginning, Rue was memorized by Jules. In season 2, the pair finally get to explore a relationship, but does Rue’s addiction ruin it all?

Tony and Maria – West Side Story VS. Margaret and Mark – The Map of Tiny Perfect Things

Two couples made for the silver screen. Who will it be? Tony and Maria come from opposite parts of the world and found their way to one another. Margaret and Mark experienced a time loop where their days were infinite but were able to find the beauty in the smallest of things.

Max and Audrey and Aki – Gossip Girl VS. Valentina and Charlie – How I Met Your Father

Things are heating up. Who wins? This…throuple(?) or Valentina and Charlie? A triad can work when all three sides of the triangle are equal, right? Aki and Audrey formed a relationship early on but maintained a close friendship with Max. Max, however, had a romantic interest in both Aki and Audrey, and thus the relationship began. Valentina and Charlie were thought to be doomed from the beginning, but when they decided to flirt with other people, they found their way back into one another arms.

Leighton and Alicia – The Sex Lives of College Girls VS. Usnavi and Vanessa – In the Heights

Last but most certainly not least is Leighton and Alicia from The Sex Lives of College Girls going up against Usnavi and Vanessa from In the Heights. After coming out to Kimberly in the season 1 finale, Leighton’s journey is just beginning, and who better to begin that journey than Alicia? Usnavi and Vanessa are old friends that have always had a spark for one another. Their back and forth game of who will make the first move finally ends when Usnavi shows his true feelings for Vanessa by staying in New York and starting his life with her.
