TCD fans are in limbo, twice over after the season 2 finale, which might also be a SERIES finale. Not only are the fans in limbo, but Carrie herself is in limbo. After Carrie decided to forgo NYU to take a job at Interview, she got a harsh welcome to the working world. Larissa was fired just as Carrie was starting at Interview and Carrie was fired, also, as a result. While it’s never good to see someone getting some hard knocks, the show is nothing if not ruthlessly daring in the way it treats its main characters. She debated moving to Malibu after she attempted to get into NYU classes, only to be rejected again…but realized that ultimately, she couldn’t run away from her problems. While Carrie has made her fair share of mistakes over the past two seasons, her decision to stay in New York and live with Samantha will no doubt shape her into the Carrie that SATC fans grew to love. Plus one for maturity on the tough decisions column. The episode also dealt with that most difficult of transitions — the time between high school and college where friendships are cemented or fall apart forever. Some of our favorites on TCD got happy endings – hello Maggie and Pete engaged! — some did not. Donna’s going to Columbia, Mouse is heading to Harvard, and Walt and Bennet are back together. While it’s hard to say what will happen, at least the series potentially tied things up nicely with satisfying endings for our favorites, if not all roses all the time.
