Josh Duhamel and Dylan Sprouse have teamed up for a new action thriller, Neglected, out in theaters May 8th! We talked exclusively with the pair to learn more about how they built up chemistry for an intense project. Dylan also shares who he would include on his Disney Mount Rushmore.

Neglected follows the soon-to-be retired Detective Shaw, played by Josh, who learns that a serial killer has buried his son alive and must solve a series of murders before the boy runs out of air. Dylan plays AJ.

You definitely recognize these two stars, including Josh from the Transformers films and Dylan from his Disney Channel days in The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and The Suite Life on Deck.

While this project was intense emotionally to film, it helped that Josh and Dylan had originally met before working together at a Luke Combs concert! Josh said Dylan came into filming with great questions about the characters and the reasoning behind their actions.

Dylan: “When I got to set, not only was Josh really invested in his own character but also the relationship between his and mine.”

Josh: “Dylan comes in with really good questions about his character.”

Both Josh and Dylan have worked on massive sets before, so they said they learned a lot from working on a smaller project in Neglected. There is often less time so it is important to come in everyday prepared, and Dylan said everyone on set created a safe space to allow him and Josh to get to the points of their acting that made it feel real to the audience.

Josh: “I’ve been lucky to be a part of both big and smaller projects.”

Dylan also takes us on a walk down memory lane with his own Disney Mount Rushmore. He of course mentioned Brenda Song, who starred as London Tipton, and also Raven Symoné from That’s So Raven.

Dylan: “I hope Brenda included herself on the Disney Mount Rushmore.”

Dylan said there are so many other people from different eras and different shows as well, including the Wizards of Waverly Place, High School Musical and Camp Rock era and even the Even Stevens era that he grew up on. Talk about a stacked list!
