Stephen starts off this week’s episode, furious about what happened to Astrid, by quitting Ultra. However, the Founder is not about to let Stephen just walk out, instead enlisting his help to find his daughter, Cassandra. She has recently broken out and gone AWOL. The Founder is not afraid to use Astrid’s safety as leverage to get what he wants. Stephen turns to the Tomorrow People for help, although he doesn’t really need it; he and Cassandra have been communicating of late anyway. He meets her at a hotel bar and once again it’s proven that he’s horrible at subterfuge; Cassandra sensed he was with Ultra all along. When the agents turn up, Stephen has to teleport he and Cassie out of there and back to the TP lair. Cara and John, in between playing tonsil tennis, are at odds over how to deal with Cassie after they read her mind and discover she has extraordinarily strong powers. Cara thinks they should hold onto Cassie but John and Russell realise that this puts them at risk from Ultra. Stephen is caught by the Founder who threatens mind torture to find out where his daughter is, so John brings in Cassie against Cara’s better judgement and Cara boots him straight out of the group. Her need for machismo once again proves to be an obstacle in their relationship.
The Founder promised that he wouldn’t harm Astrid but the moment he has Cassie back, he sends a group of agents out to eliminate her. Poor old Astrid isn’t having much luck these days, with Ultra agents out to kill her every time she leaves the house to buy a newspaper. This time she’s having dinner with her dad and Stephen’s mom, waiting for Stephen, when the agents arrive. Stephen decides to have a heart to heart with Luca, who thinks Stephen is acting strange because he’s found out that Luca smokes pot. Stephen, puzzled, is running late and turns up at dinner too late to block the bullets meant for Astrid. No worries though, because Stephen’s mom had telepathically sensed that something was up and saved them from Ultra’s fire. It’s her, not Luca, who has supernatural powers! What are the implications for Stephen’s family? And why is Luca the only one with no powers? Tune in next time to find out.
