Once Upon a Time in Wonderland S01E10 “Dirty Little Secrets”

Jafar is one dastardly mofo.

Tonight’s episode opens with a flashback of Cyrus and his brothers when they are younger; they return home from a poker game to find their house on fire and their mother Amara inside.  Only something called the Well of Wondering Waters will save Amara, but the magic from the Well comes at a price.   Cyrus steals water from the Well against his brothers’ better judgement.  He pours the magic water all over his mother’s body and she is miraculously healed.  However, the price is that the Well-keeper comes and takes Cyrus and his brothers, trapping them in bottles.

In the present, Alice, Cyrus, and the gang are trying to rescue Cyrus’ brothers, still imprisoned in bottles and captives of Jafar.  Alice and Cyrus decide to go on a mission to find the Well of Wondering Water so that they may break the curse.  Meanwhile, the Jabberwocky is trying to track down the genie for Jafar. She finds Lizard, and through Lizard’s eyes can see that the Red Queen was with her when she died; Jafar now wants the Red Queen.

Will and the Red Queen knock on Rabbit’s door.  Rabbit is skeptical until the Red Queen apologizes that all of the horrible things she did to him, and asks that he help her regain the trust of the people of Wonderland.  However Rabbit tells her that Jafar has released the Jabberwocky and that she should be very afraid.  When they leave Rabbit’s place, even Will is having trouble believing that the Queen is a changed woman, in spite of her protests that she wants to help the people of Wonderland. The Queen hears something in the woods; she forces Will into his bottle to hide him. The Jabberwocky appears and a fight ensues.  The Jabberwocky finds Will’s hiding place and steals him.  Meanwhile Alice and Cyrus are wandering in the forest, and find two doors. They must choose a door, one will “suck them down under” and the other take them to the well.  Alice solves the riddle guarding the doors but Cyrus says she must stay behind – it’s his responsibility to go down to the Well.  He gets to the Well and begs the Well-keeper to release his brothers.  She refuses, but says that his mother, Amara, is alive.

The Jabberwocky takes the Red Queen and Will to Jafar, but The Queen tells Jafar that he is powerless as Will won’t go back into the bottle for real until she’s made her three wishes, and she won’t make them.   Furious, Jafar summons the Jabberwocky to mentally torture them.  She tricks The Red Queen into wishing for her crown back, and then for her jewels.  She’s not very good at this.  For her final wish she asks that the Jabberwocky stops torturing her, and this lands Will back in his bottle.  Tweedle pays the Red Queen a visit in her cage and she tells him to get a message to Alice and Cyrus to get out of Wonderland as Jafar is now too powerful.

Alice comes to find Cyrus at the Well and asks him why he didn’t tell her about the curse.  She convinces him that she will help him find Amara, if she is alive like the Well-Keeper says.  Is Amara still alive? And is there anything Alice and Cyrus can do to rescue their friends from Jafar?  Tune in next week to find out!
