A Look at the Ninja Turtle’s – Now vs. Then

tmnt
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is back with a vengeance in the upcoming remake. The differences are vast but our favorite characters will undoubtedly be back, now with super cool actors voicing them.  The movie has been getting revisions up until the very last moment, which can only mean it’s getting better. With a release date of August 8
th 2014, the world will get to see the new, darker, and much edgier Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Early reports about the new movie pointed out one major difference in which Teenage and Mutant had been dropped from the logo that only read Ninja Turtles in the new film. As the movie has been delayed, it seems that Teenage and Mutant have come back into the title, to the relief of many.

Another difference is the gritty backdrop and content. Rumors are swirling that Michael Bay’s adaptation has a very dark undertone. Riddled with intricate fight scenes and dangerous turns, audiences are sure to embark on a new adventure.

From the trailers that have been released and leaks of an early draft, the personalities we all grew to love will remain intact along with the same characters  Leonardo is labeled as largely muscled like a linebacker and the oldest of the turtles. Raphael is apparently the most muscular of the group, and uses his enormous shoulders to carry around that giant chip. Donatello is the brainiest and most calm, while, unsurprisingly, Michelangelo is the youngest and most free in nature. These descriptions are similar to the original characters and show that their true nature will remain alive. Although originally the actors who wore the suits in production were to voice the new characters, it’s been revealed that the film is going in a different direction. Johnny Knoxville has just been added to voice the role of Leonardo, and Tony Shalhoub will voice Splinter.

It is sure to be an exciting remake and will revive the excitement that got everyone hooked in 1990. With an original film that amazing, one can only hope the remake lives up to expectations.
