Lily Lane is a baby bombshell who has recently had music featured in Pretty Little Liars. We loved her impassioned vocal on the track, “Nothing But Trouble”, so we decided to find out a little bit more about who she is, what makes her tick, and where she gets her fabulous sense of style.  Enjoy!

lily-laneYA Mag: Where are you from Lily Lane?  You sound like a Beatles song.

Lily Lane: I was born in Boston, but when I graduated highschool I moved to NYC and have been living almost bicoastally in NYC and LA since then.

YA: You have quite a throwback 60’s/glamorpuss look in your videos for “I Get High” and “Nothin’ But Trouble”.  Is that how you dress in real life or do you have an awesome stylist?

LL: I actually don’t have a stylist, so I suppose it is how I dress in real life. I definitely wear jeans and sweats like any other person sometimes but my closet does solely consist of Red, White, Black and Nude. If I’m performing or heading to an event,  I try to amp it up! I only wear classic old Hollywood with a modern spin type pieces.

YA: Your song  “Nothin’ But Trouble” was featured on PLL this year. How did the Pretty Little Liars collaboration come about?

LL: My team sent the song to their music supervisor and I guess they liked it as they ended up using it quite a few times. It was a really cool experience and a wonderful show to be a part of.

YA: Who is “Nothin’ But Trouble” about?  It sounds like a juicy story.

LL: Lets just say it’s about a bad boy, who I knew was not good for me, who I kept going back to against my better judgement because sometimes it feels good to be bad.

YA: What’s the thing you most enjoy about your job as a performer?

LL: Writing music, to be honest. It’s extremely therapeutic for me and I love the whole process of creating and bringing your thoughts and heartache and triumph to life. I just really love singing and writing music. However, on the performance side, I love small shows where I can really connect with fans and see their reactions to every song- big shows are great, but to actually be able to see music touch and change people is magic.

YA: Summer is now officially over.  What’s your best summer memory ever?

LL: EVER? I’m not sure, maybe performing at KIIS Radio’s Kiss Concert in 2012? but this summer I had a lot of fun shooting my new video for the “I Get High (Remix)” that comes out next week. About 12 of my friends got involved and will be seen in the video, plus one of my best friends directed. We basically just got to have a rooftop party, dance, or run around on the beach so it was pretty wonderful.

YA: Who’s your pop idol?  Past or present.

LL: Pop culture idol would have to be Marilyn Monroe or Brigitte Bardot, music pop idol Carole King, Aretha Franklin or Adele.

YA: If you had to pick a famous person to have a crush on … who would it be?

LL: Tom Hiddleston as Loki. I love a good villain.

YA: If you were an animal, what animal do you think you’d be?  I’d be a capybara.

LL: Maybe a panda bear, they seem kind of lazy and hungry but they’re actually super fierce and kind of vicious. Plus, black and white so we have the same color scheme ;).

YA: What are your plans for the rest of the year?  Is there an album in the works?

LL: There is an album in the works! And I should have some singles out by the end of the year if not an album yet. In fact my new single is coming out next week, keep an eye out for the I GET HIGH (REMIX).

YA: Which 5 songs are playing on your iPod right now?

LL: Too many songs to count, but my last 5 played were:

Latch- Sam Smith

All Falls Down & Touch The Sky – Kanye West

Come Get it Bae – Pharrell and Miley Cyrus

Classic – MKTO
