The Voice Season Four Recap

The Voice promo imageSeason 4 kicked off with some fresh new faces and amazing talent. Host Carson Daly is back to welcome the crowd and a recording contract from Universal Music Group is on the line. In addition to veteran coaches Black Shelton and Adam Levine, Shakira and Usher are bringing their expertise to the table, while Cee Lo and Christina Aguilera sit this season out. Not to worry fans, they will be back! The blind auditions started off with a bang and presented some incredible talents. The judges didn’t waste any time stacking their teams with fantastic singers. After the blind auditions, hopefuls duked it out in the battle rounds. Each coach pairs two of his or her team members to perform together, then chooses one to advance in the competition. As the teams get whittled down in the Battle and Knockout Rounds, we are left with our top 16. The live shows came next and America is brought in to choose our top 10.

The live shows delivered some standout performances from judges and guest stars, along with contestants. Blake Shelton and wife, Miranda Lambert, paid tribute to Oklahoma tornado victims with a beautiful rendition of “Over You”. Cee-Lo Green has made two appearances throughout the season as a guest mentor for Shakira, and performing his new single with past Voice winner, Juliet Simms. Our top 6 is revealed and America is left to make the big decisions. Michelle Chamuel, of Team Usher, has performed such numbers as Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl”, Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” and Pink’s “Just Give Me a Reason.” Originally part of Team Adam, Sasha Allen was stolen by Shakira after a fierce battle with Amber Carrington, of Team Adam, in the Battle Rounds. Danielle Bradbery, the 16-year-old Texas native on Team Blake, is the only season four finalist to date to have earned the iTunes ten-times vote multiplier, which she snagged for her May 20 rendition of Jo Dee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California.” Holly Tucker, also of Team Blake, is a full-time student at Baylor University and plays the saxophone in the marching band. The last of Team Blake’s members, country duo The Swon Brothers, are the only males left in the competition. Who will go home next? Tune in on Monday for the live performances and make sure to cast your vote. Who is your favorite?
