This week we said goodbye to one of our favorite characters – Katherine. We question whether or not she’s really gone, however. Considering her past, it’s entirely possible that she’ll be back sooner rather than later. Stefan was the one who actually did her in. It’s unfortunate that Katherine didn’t listen to Nadia and leave town before this. If we go back a little we’ll see how this all went down.

Stefan and Caroline tried to devise a plan to get the old Elena out of Katherine’s clutches in Elena’s body by planning a party for Bonnie where everything will go down. Katherine figures out that everyone’s savvy to the fact that she’s taken over Elena’s body. Our group figures out that Katherine knows they know so they use a locator spell to find her. They track her down and Stefan kidnaps Nadia to use her for leverage. Damon manages to break out of the mansion and escapes and kills Dr. Wes.

Katherine was going to see the doctor to get help but finds him after Damon had already gotten to him. Katherine has no choice but to face down the group if she wants to protect her daughter and for once she does the right thing. Katherine shows up too late and Nadia dies, but not before the two share an emotional moment on Nadia’s deathbed. Stefan kills Katherine…but Katherine made sure to inject her body with the ripper venom beforehand. Elena’s back but now she’s a ripper! Do you think Katherine’s gone for good?
