On the midseason premiere of the ABC fairytale drama, Emma is living in NYC after both her and Henry’s memories are wiped. All seems to be going well for Emma; she’s doing great work at her job, she’s a caring mother with no memory of ever giving Henry up for adoption, and she’s even got a steamy new boyfriend, Walsh, played by Chris Gorham of Ugly Betty fame. Walsh proposes to Emma but she feels she needs time to answer.
Unfortunately for Emma, Hook is still after her, trying to get her memories back. Hook sends her to Neal’s to try and kickstart her memory but it only aggravates Emma. She ends up getting Hook arrested after he tries to get her to drink a vial of poison to reignite her memories. After seeing a picture of her and Henry in a town called Storybrooke, she decides to get Hook out of jail. Despite her efforts to tell Hook she has moved on, he gets her to drink the potion, bringing back all of her memories. They head back to Storybrooke and find it completely the same, despite it vanishing on the last episode. The residents have no memory of the last year.
