Last episode saw the Royal Wedding of the century…But that doesn’t mean “Dirty Laundry” is a slouch, either. We see Mary and Francis return to court after their two-month honeymoon. Upon their arrival they find out the Archduke Ferdinand of Bohemia visiting, entourage in tow. Henry is having an affair with the Archduke’s sister, and while they’re having sex she accidentally falls out a window. Henry freaks out and asks Catherine for help, and together they make it look like she committed suicide.
Bash is hunting in the woods when he meets Rowan and her brother. They’ve been living there. The three of them together come across Olivia, who has mysterious bite marks on her arms. We learn she’s also catatonic. Bash takes Olivia to Nostradamus, thinking the sage may offer some insight. While they’re there she stabs and kills a priest, not being aware of her actions. Bash visits Mary to tell of his suspicions that Francis tried to have him killed. Francis, of course, denies it. It didn’t take long for old tension to resurface and Mary’s caught in the middle. Lola thinks she’s pregnant with Francis’ child. Mary stops her from getting an abortion because the procedure is so dangerous. Mary is understandably heartbroken, but promises to keep the pregnancy a secret from Francis. Mary pleads with Bash to stop having feelings for her. He refuses and again swears his love. Bash goes to Rowan, who convinces him to stay in France, and they kiss. Do you see Bash and Rowan going the distance? It certainly complicates things for Mary.
