MTV has been hitting it out of the park on a couple of fronts with their scripted programming. They have amazing concepts, but more than that they’ve been a breeding ground for some next level talent and have helped establish the career of many up and comers. This week we’re looking to one of our favorite new shows, Finding Carter, and spotlighting Jesse Carere as Ofe as this week’s new star to watch.

Jesse Carere brings some levity to a crazy, tense, dramatic and sad premise as Ofe and we love seeing the progression on a week-to-week basis. Jesse is a native Canadian. He’s only really been pursuing acting full time since 2011 and has had a tremendous amount of success in three short years. He got his start on Skins Webisodes as Chris Collins, which lead to a regular recurring role on the show. This brought him into the MTV fold where he remains to this day. He’s had some featured roles on other projects including NCIS, and Cracked. He will next be seen playing lead in Teen Lust which premieres at TIFF in September. His steady success in such a short amount of time only points to greater things to come and we can’t wait to stay tuned and see where this rising star goes!
