Bumblebee is one of the newest movies at the box office. If you’re a fan of the original Transformers, you’ll fall in love with the franchise all over again after watching the latest film, ‘Bumblebee.’ It’s an excellent blend of heartwarming, humor and action-packed that manages to charm audiences of all ages. The film transports the viewer back to the 80’s through music, clothes and slang to experience the origin story of everyone’s favorite yellow autobot.

Director Travis Knight does a phenomenal job of recreating the Transformers universe from scratch in order to portray a less action-oriented, character driven plot line instead of Michael Bay’s more smash and crash blockbusters.

On the planet Cybertron, Optimus Prime and the Autobots are fleeing from a losing war against the Decepticons. B-127 is sent on a scouting mission to earth in order to protect it until the others arrive and ends up in the middle of a military training ground leg by Jack Burns (John Cena) where he chased into the forest and encounters Blitzwing, a Decepticon who followed him. They engage in a fight, where Bumblebee loses his memory and his voicebox. Although he emerges as the victor before going into a state of hibernation at the severity of his wounds. But not before disguising himself as a 1967 VW Beetle.

Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld) is a lonely girl on the cusp of turning 18. She just wants to fix up the car her and her father were working on before he died. And she wants to have her own car. Charlie’s family doesn’t understand her inability to move on and begin to heel. She finds the disguised yellow Volkswagen in a scrap yard while looking for parts. She tries to buy it from the owner, who gifts it to her for her birthday, on the condition that she can get it to start.

The girl manages to start the car, but accidentally sends out a beacon signal that alerts the Decepticons of B-127’s location. She promptly names Bumblebee. But two Decepticons, Shatter and Dropkick arrive on earth and convince Agent Burns that B-127 is a dangerous criminal fugitive.

Now, Bumblebee and Charlie must embark on the adventure of a lifetime. Before everything is destroyed, Charlie and Bee must stop the Decepticons and protect the earth before everything is destroyed. The bond between girl and autobot is something truly special. The movie even mirrors other great films like ‘E.T.’ and ‘The Iron Giant.’
