Episode 23: Zombies 4 star Sway Bhatia spills on “manifest moment” of meeting Milo Manheim for the first time

In episode 23 of The Young Entertainment Podcast, Mordechai and Daniella are joined by actress, singer, and dancer Sway Bhatia, who stars as Vera in Zombies 4! We chatted all about Sway’s experience on set, what she learned from all her cast members, and her favorite part of playing a vampire.

If you’ve ever wanted a podcast to learn from the stars and get BTS moments from your favorite shows and movies, you’ve come to the right place!

Sway is a triple threat as an actress, singer, and dancer who has been perfecting her crafts since three years old. She hasn’t slowed down since and in addition to Zombies 4, Sway has starred as Sofi in The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers and as Sophie Roy in Succession. She has also appeared in various theater productions and would love to find her way back one day.

Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires is the fourth installment in the hit Disney Zombies series. Zed and Addison will discover the warring worlds of Sunnyside and Shadyside on a summer road trip after their first year of college, encountering two new groups of monsters, the Daywalkers and Vampires. Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly reprise their roles as Zed and Addison. Sway’s character Vera is a Nightwalker Vampire with a variety of powers.

“I’ve been a fan of this franchise and I’ve always only seen it as a viewer so getting to all see it happen from the beginning was really exciting.”

Sway had already had experience working with Disney from The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers and revealed she had met Milo Manheim years before at the premiere of Prom Pact. She shared they had chatted about the Zombies franchise and Milo said he had hoped to see her in it one day, and Sway did exactly that! Talk about a manifestation moment!

“[Zombies 4] was probably the quickest audition process I had and also the most stressful but I am very very grateful.”

There were so many firsts on the set of Zombies 4, as Sway visited New Zealand for the first time and it was also her first ever movie musical. She also learned a lot in the hair and makeup chair about costuming and had her hair dyed red for the first time to play her ‘sassy alter ego’ Vera.

“That was very exciting for me getting to be in proper recording studios with incredible music producers and writers.”

Sway worked with so many people she has looked up to, and learned something unique from each of them. She learned about cars from Malachai Barton, she learned and also taught ASL with Milo, and she shares the same music taste with Freya Syke.

“[Milo] taught us a lot about centering ourselves and living in the moment.”

Also, if you haven’t gotten your tickets yet for Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour”, what are you waiting for! Tickets are still on sale, as Sway revealed she will be catching the New York show!

Sway and her vampire brothers, MK Knife and Malachai, had so much fun on set, from making TikToks to just hanging out, and Sway said she loved playing a vampire, and is a night owl herself.

“MK and Malachai were the best vamp brothers I could ask for.”

Sway was such a joy to chat with, and we are so excited for the Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour. And once again, this podcast is for you, the fans! We want to know who you want to hear and learn from and have many exciting guests and stories coming up in future episodes!
