SYNOPSIS: Shocked and betrayed, Alix learns that Swanee has been leading a double life–secretly dating a girl named Liana the entire time she’s been with Alix. Alix texts Liana from Swanee’s phone, pretending to be Swanee in order to gather information before finally meeting face-to-face to break the news. Brought together by Swanee’s lies, Alix and Liana become closer than they’d thought possible. But Alix is still hiding the truth from Liana. It’s unclear if the character on the cover is Alix or the enigmatic Swanee. Our guess is the later, since there is a distinct intensity to the blonde’s gaze, setting the mood instantly, and to throw out the question if she is a sociopath or just someone who needed to learn better communication skills. Author Julie Anne Peters is well known for her YA novels including heavy doses of LGBT reality. She deals with trans issues in “Luna”, same-sex divorce in “Between Mom and Jo”, and abuse in a same-sex relationship in “Rage: A Love Story”.
