About the Album: The road to Matangi has been a bit rocky. The record has gotten pushed several times. Sources say that it’s because Interscope, M.I.A’s label, was unhappy with her (ironically) happier sound. M.I.A responded with threats of leaking the record herself if they if didn’t move ahead with a release date. Matangi now has a spot on the calendar: November 5th. Outside of this, details on the album have few and far between but the current tracks out there, “Bring The Noize” and “Only 1 U” don’t sound too far off from the M.I.A we’ve all come to know and love.

Track Spotlight: “Bring the Noize” does just that. It’s upbeat, loud and noisy, in the best possible way. Longtime M.I.A fans are sure to be pleased, and new ones will flock to this level of Noize.
