movie-casting

It would seem that casting news for Young Adult Hollywood revolves around just a few hot and very in-demand names, and what a busy bunch they are! But because things change in showbiz faster than it takes Ansel Elgort to get a new job, the names on that list are changing all the time. So to that end, we here at YA Mag will undertake the hefty task of keeping you up to date each month on who’s playing what, who’s not, and who should. The roles and stars everyone can’t stop talking about are all here…

Melissa & Joey’s Nick Robinson and newcomer Adam Roe are in talks to star opposite Chloe Moretz in the film adaptation of Rick Yancey’s YA sci-fi epic The 5th Wave, about a teen girl on a mission to rescue her brother. Robinson would portray a ruthless alien alien assassin and love interest to Moretz, while Roe would play a mysterious loner who may hold the key to defeating the aliens.

Tye Sheridan He is also squaring off against Mud’s Tye Sheridan to fill Matthew Broderick’s shoes in the reboot of 80s kid classic WarGames, about a pair of teens (back then Broderick and Ally Sheedy) who hack into a government network and mistakenly set off a chain of events which may lead to WWIII.
