Neighbors

Neighbors posterThe raucous men of the wild and dirty new film Neighbors are an adorable bunch: there’s nothing hotter than seeing two of Hollywood’s most smoking young hunks, i.e. Zac Efron and Dave Franco, together in one film (and very often sans shirts, we might add). That’s about all this film has to go on—Neighbors is selling sex gags and toilet humor, and the trick is (as always), don’t try to be anything other than what it is. In that regard, the film is a success, but let’s not overstate things.

Whether he likes it or not, Seth Rogen’s name is never too far after mentioning toilet humor in a film, and here he is very much the butt (no pun intended) of many a joke. Here he jumps camps (after similar fare like Superbad) and plays the straight-edge role, as a husband and father living in a quiet neighborhood, only to have a wild Frat house move in next door. Zac and Dave play President and Vice President of said frat house, and together the two come up with schemes to make the neighbors crazy for having called the cops on them. Only, the boring ‘old’ couple have some schemes of their own. (Insert crude gags here).

If a laugh (or a gasp in disgust) is what you’re looking for, then this is the film for you, especially if you enjoy penis jokes (of which there are copious amounts). For any sort of intelligence or deep meaning, you have another thing coming.

Feel free to let us know what you thought of the film, and what your favorite no-shirt Zac Efron moment was!
