RYAN MERRIMAN DISHES ON HIS DISNEY DAYS AND HIS EPIC FATE ON ‘PLL’

All about firsts Young Entertainment Mag chats with Ryan Merriman on all things Pretty Little Liars and his sweet moves from when he was on the Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Smart House

YEM: What was the audition for In The Rough like?
Ryan Merriman: I luckily did not have to audition for “In the Rough.” I spoke with Jeff Robison and Jason Wiles [executive producers] on the phone about the project and it just seemed like a perfect fit. I had recently moved back home to Oklahoma and golf with my buddies every week.

YEM: There seems to be some risqué scenes was there anything you weren’t comfortable with? And if so what did you do to overcome it?
RM: Ha! There are some but no, none of the scenes made me uncomfortable. I’ve always been a wild child and my friends and I are kind of a rowdy crew.

YEM: This is going back: What’s one acting skill you picked up on on the set of Smart House? (My favorite scene was the Five – Slam Dunk (Da Funk) dance routine)
RM: How to be creative with a green screen. (Funny you mention that scene, my wife often tries to recreate those sweet moves.)

YEM: Do you have a favorite Disney Channel original movie?
Luck of the Irish” 😉

YEM: When did you find out you were going to get killed off of Pretty Little Liars? What was your reaction when you found out? Did you know that it was Alison that killed your character or did you find out with the rest of us?
RM: I found out a week before. Ian’s death was in the books, so I knew it would happen at some point. I was definitely bummed because I loved the set and the cast! And no, I found out like everyone else it was Alison.

YEM: What was your favorite scene to shoot on Pretty Little Liars? And why?
RM: When I chased Troian [Bellisario] (Spencer Hastings) in the bell tower.

YEM: Who do you think Uber A is on Pretty Little Liars?
RM: Your guess is as good as mine!

YEM: What has been your favorite moment throughout your acting career and what are you most looking forward to?
RM: Favorite moment: Training for and filming “42” and all of the roller coaster green screen scenes in “Final Destination 3
Looking forward to: playing the role of a soldier and landing a role in an action film. (And of course filming Season 2 of “In the Rough!” 😉)
