Teen Wolf Recap

Teen Wolf imageSome might call this the best season of Teen Wolf yet. Some might be right. TW ended the first half of seasons 3 (damn you summer hiatus) on a high note. There was danger, there were heart stopping moments, and nonstop action until the last second, just the way we like it at YA. We picked up with Stiles, Allison, and Scott taking a 16-hour supernatural ice bath in order to determine the location of their parents’ would-be sacrifice. With only four hours until the full moon, there wasn’t a minute to spare. Thankfully, it worked.

Aidan showed up and asked Lydia to help stop his brother and Kali, who were going to kill Derek. She agreed, but the brouhaha that ensued almost took the lives of the twins and RIP Kali. Hey, the finale wouldn’t be complete without at least one death.

Scott etc. tried to soldier on, however they were inconveniently detained by Scott’s dad. Allison literally smoked him out and they managed to get away. Score one for smoke bombs. After making their escape, they met up with Deucalion, only to split up again: Allison and Isaac off to save the parentals and Scott and Deucalion off to defeat Jennifer once and for all.

Stiles, meanwhile was MIA due to an unfortunate car crash. Don’t worry though, he ended up fine (unlike some other finales cough Degrassi cough). Scott and Deucalion end up facing off with Jennifer and Derek. Deucalion could have taken them both, but instead, he tried to convince Scott to kill Jennifer and become the Alpha he was “meant to be.”

While Scott agonized over what to do, Stiles escaped from his wrecked car and saved all the parents. YAY STILES! Back at the showdown, the lunar eclipse arrived and Jennifer used the chance to almost take out a weakened Decalion. But before she dealt the final blow, Derek convinced her to heal Deacalion’s eyesight so he could see what he had done with open eyes. In doing so, however Jennifer weakened her own power, and gave Derek a chance to stop everything. Jennifer tried to protect herself with the mountain ash circle, to little avail. ALPHA SCOTT IS ON THE SCENE. Deacalion slashed her throat. Yay? She’s not dead, however. Instead, at the end of the episode we see her going to nemeton and begging for help and mercy. Just as this goes down, Peter Hale shows up and announces his plans to become ALPHA AGAIN!

Deucalion was let go but warned by Scott and Derek to stay in line. Thin ice Deucalion, thin ice. Derek took off with Cora to we don’t know where. Allison decides to continue her training. And Scott’s dad continues to be Scott’s dad. SUMMER HIATUS CANNOT END FAST ENOUGH.
