The Originals, S01E14 “Long Way Back From Hell”

This episode isn’t called “A Long Way Back From Hell” for no reason. We follow Rebekah’s dark past throughout, and for her it clearly was a long way back from hell. We find Rebekah locked up in the asylum/sanatorium where she worked in the early 20th century. That would be creepy enough, but she soon realizes that a witch named Genevieve is out for revenge and seeks to harm Rebekah. To make matters worse, Genevieve knows secrets about Rebekah that could destroy her and the family if exposed.

We also follow Elijah, who turns to Marcel and Hayley for help when he jeopardizes Rebekah and Klaus. It was an interesting thing to see Elijah ask for help and definitely something new for his character to explore. Marcel also realizes that he may have information that could lead everyone to Rebekah and Klaus and be potentially deadly for everyone and resulting in some near misses. While this was one of the more tense episodes, it was also one of the best yet. Did you like “A Long Way Back From Hell”? Join #TheOriginals conversation on Twitter with us.
